If your procrastinator to-dos have included sampling the fare and scene at downtown West Palm Beach restaurants you’ve yet to try, mark May 31 on your calendar.
In a 5-10 p.m. progressive dinner party-style event called “Pairings,” pass-holders can stroll to and from more than 15 participating restaurants to taste their bar bites or scaled-down portions of their appetizers, entrees, desserts and/or cocktails.
Passes are $25—and after the May 31 event, you can use them at “Pairings” restaurants to receive 10 percent off during the month of June.
“Pairings” restaurants/bars—most of which are offering specific food-and-beverage couplings that, for the most part, are pretty casual in nature—range from Latin and Middle-Eastern eateries to pizzerias, pubs, and coffee or wine places.
Among them and what they’ll be serving:
Cabana—churrasco (grilled meat) and caipirinhas;
Duffy’s—coconut-crusted mahi bites and “Panthers” punch;
Grease Burger Bar—apple-jack burgers and Magic Hat #9;
Longboards—lobster mac-and-cheese and Ditty Mow Mow;
Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar—ceviche and margaritas;
Roxy’s Pub—wings and beer;
The Wine Dive—petite chicken canapes and sangria;
Habatat Coffee—Taza stone-ground chocolates and coconut cappuccino;
Uncle Louie G’s and the Cheese Steak Factory—cheese-steak sandwich bites and Italian ices;
Leila—Middle Eastern chicken and arak;
Clematis Pizza—pizza and beer or house wine.
Among other participating “Pairings” restaurants: Off the Hookah (featuring an after-party), Grimaldi’s Pizzeria and Kabuki Sushi & Thai Tapas.
Pairings passes can be purchased online (visit wpbgo.com) or at any participating restaurant; the Sunfest office (525 Clematis St.); and the Downtown Development Authority office (301 Clematis St., #200).
A portion of “Pairings” proceeds benefits Place of Hope, a faith-based child welfare organization in West Palm Beach that provides a variety of programs, services and family-style housing for foster children.
